Chelsea defeats Brighton, and Cole Palmer creates history.

Chelsea's Cole Palmer scored four goals in the first half of their team's thrilling 4-2 Premier League victory over Brighton on Saturday, including a spectacular long-range free kick and a penalty.

The match was exciting because of both teams' goalkeeping mistakes, strong defensive positions, and quick counterattacks. Georginio Rutter of Brighton gave the visitors the lead in the seventh minute, and 22-year-old Palmer scored a hat-trick in the next eleven minutes.

After another mistake by former Brighton goalie Robert Sanchez, Carlos Baleba gave Brighton a point back in the 32nd minute. Just before halftime, Palmer made it four with a perfectly timed pass from Jadon Sancho.

Making history, the prolific Palmer became the first player to score four goals in the first half of a Premier League match. He also struck the crossbar in the first half. He had a chance to add a fifth in the second half, but he was reduced to playing against only goalie Bart Verbruggen.

The result saw Brighton's flawless season come to an end and put Chelsea up to third place in the standings.
