Rafael Nadal's match at the Italian Open abruptly ended when a fan collapsed in the middle of tense scenes.

Rafael Nadal is returning to Rome to challenge himself one more. The Spaniard is battling to restore his standing in Rome during the summer after losing to Jiri Lehecka back in Madrid. The crowd did not leave any evidence during his first match against Zizou Bergs that they were there to cheer for the "King of Clay." But the unsettling weather appeared to be impeding the high level of enthusiasm.

Rafa's opponent in the opening game appeared to be in control from the beginning. The play came to an unexpected halt, even though the scoreboard showed Bergs leading with the first set in his name. A fan unexpectedly passed out in the midst of the massive audience that was cheering for the stars.
